The 2nd International Low Flute Festival in 浦安の中止のお知らせ　　2020年6月10日

拝啓　この度の新型コロナウィルスのパンデミックにより世界各地で甚大なる影響が及ぼされている事に皆様も心を痛めていらっしゃることと存じます。

　ILFF2020 実行委員会では2020年2月28日にフェスティヴァルの延期を決定し、皆様へは3月7日に延期に関するガイドラインを発表させて頂きました。しかし、その後数ヶ月の間に状況は刻々と変わり今やウィルスは世界中に広まってしまいました。また未だに治療法も確立されておらず、ワクチンの開発にも時間を要すると言われています。実行委員会ではこれらの状況を踏まえ5月に再度フェスティヴァルの開催について協議を重ね以下の様な結論に至りました。

1、2021年3月のフェスティヴァルの開催は新型コロナウィルスの影響の長期化、国を越えての往来の難しさ、フェスティヴァルでのソーシャルディスタンスの確保の難しさなどを考慮して中止にした方がよい。

2、オンラインでの開催も考えたが日本でのオンラインの普及率の低さ、国際間での時差と言語の問題がある為、不可能と判断。

3、2022年への延期も検討したが、現在の状況では2022年に確実に開催出来る状況になるのかわからないので、一旦白紙に戻して参加費を参加者へ返金し、数年後また開催出来る機会があれば改めて検討する。

　上記の内容を浦安市と公益財団法人ちばコンべンションビューローとも話し合い、2021年のフェスティヴァルの開催を中止することを決定致しました。アルトフルートコンクールにつきましても同様に中止とさせて頂きます。誠に残念ではありますが、何卒ご理解頂きたくお願い申し上げます。新型コロナウィルスが終息し、安全にフェスティヴァルが開催出来る時期が参りましたら是非また日本での開催を実現させたいと思っております。

　つきましては、参加者の皆様には参加費のご返金をさせて頂きます。

ご返金するのは「参加費より振込手数料を差し引いた金額」です。申し訳ございませんがアルトフルートコンクール申込金、プロフェッショナルロウフルートアンサンブル申込金はお申込み時の記述通りご返金致しません。

返金のお手続きは以下の通りです。

＊ペイパルでのご入金の方にはペイパルで返金致します。ペイパルの記録がこちらにございますので「受付番号」をご連絡頂かなくても結構です。尚、ペイパルでご入金された方で他の方法でのご返金をご希望の方は6月20日までご連絡ください。

＊銀行振込でご入金された方は「受付番号」と「返金振込先の銀行口座」をメールにて実行委員会までお知らせください。こちらのメールは6月10日より8月10日まで受付ます。

皆様へのご返金は2020年6月20日より順次行い最終日は8月20日とさせて頂きます。

8月20日を過ぎてもご返金を受取っていない場合は速やかに実行委員会までご連絡ください。また8月20日までにご連絡がなく、実行委員会からのメールにも返信がない場合は準備費用に充てさせて頂きますのでご了承ください。

尚、今回フェスティヴァルにご参加くださる予定だった皆様の交流の場として今後も2020ILFFのFace Bookページを存続致します。ビジター投稿が可能になっておりますのでどなたでも投稿頂けます。皆様の演奏動画などございましたら是非ご投稿ください。

投稿内容は2020ILFFに関連性のあるものとさせて頂きます。

Announcement of the Cancellation of the 2nd International Low Flutes Festival in Urayasu, Japan June 10. 2020

Dear 2020ILFF Participants and the People Concerned,

We hope this message finds you safe and well in this trying times with the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you are aware, on Feb. 28, 2020, the ILFF2020 executive committee came to the decision to postpone the festival to March 2021 and stated the general guidelines in regards to the postponement on March 7, 2020. Since then, however, within these few months, the circumstances have drastically evolved with the virus spreading worldwide. There is no cure for the infection as of now and it is said that it will take at least a year or longer for any new vaccine to be available to us.

With regards to the current situation, the executive committee has, in May, once again discussed whether to carry out the festival next year as planned and has come to the following conclusion:

1. As the effect of the ongoing spread of COVID-19 appears to be drawn out indefinitely, we anticipate great difficulties in participants’ traveling abroad and keeping social distances during the festival. Therefore, it is best we cancel the 2020ILFF(2021).

2. An online festival has been considered, however, familiarity with the online technology is rather low in Japan. In addition, there will be an unavoidable barrier of time difference and language, hence, we have decided it would be impossible.

3. Postponement to 2022 has also been discussed, however, we decided that it is too difficult to envision in what conditions we will find ourselves 2 years from now and that it seems more sensible to refund the participation fee to all and reorganize anew if and when we host ILFF in Japan in the future.

We have also corresponded with the city of Urayasu and the Chiba Convention Bureau with respect to the above matter and have made the final decision to cancel the festival that was to be held in 2021. The alto flute competition finals will also be canceled. We are regretful to have had to come to this decision, but we hope you will understand. When COVID-19 is eradicated and the right time comes for us to be able to safely hold the festival, we hope to realize it in Japan.

Accordingly, we would like to refund the participation fee.

The amount we are refunding will be “the amount after deducting any transfer fee that may occur from the participation fee”. As for the application fees for the alto flute competition and the professional low flute ensemble, there will be no refund as stated in the initial guidelines.

Refund procedures:

*If you have paid the fee via PayPal, it will be refunded via PayPal.There will be no need to provide us with the registration number since we have kept the records. If, for any reason, you would like to be refunded in another method, please let us know by June 20, 2020.

*If you have paid the fee via bank wiring, please provide us with “the registration number” received and “1)the name of your bank, 2)name and address of branch, 3)your account number, 4)the swift code and 5)the exact name and address of the account holder” by email between June 10 - Aug.10, 2020.

We plan to proceed with the refund starting on June 20, 2020 in an orderly matter until Aug. 20, 2020. If you do not receive the refund even after Aug. 20, please let us know as soon as possible. Furthermore, if we do not hear from you nor receive any response to our emails by Aug.20, we would like to donate it as compensation for the cost in preparing for ILFF2020.

Everyone who had signed up and prepared for the ILFF2020 would have had a fantastic time hearing new music, new sounds and making new friends. In providing a place for further exchanges among our community, we will keep the Facebook website for ILFF2020 open. Any visitors are welcome to enter comments, videos of performances, etc., however, we kindly ask that they remain relevant for ILFF2020.

Dr. Chris Potter

クリス・ポッター博士は、ニューヨーク、シカゴ、ボストン、パリ、ロンドン、マンチェスター・イングランド、ヴェッギス・スイス、ロサンゼルス、シアトル、サンディエゴにてアルトとバスフルートのソリストとして演奏を行ってきた。彼女が出版したAlto Flute MethodとBass Flute MethodはAmazon、彼女のウェブサイトchrispotterflute.comおよび多くの小売店を通じて発売されている。またFalls House Pressによって出版された彼女のビブラート・ワークブックは、2016年のNFAのNewly Published Music Competition in the pegagogy categoryを受賞。アルトとベースのソロ作品を特集したCD「Flute Menagerie」を発表。米国にて毎年6月に2回、室内楽に重点を置いたアルトとバスフルートリトリートを開催している。スイスのゴールウェイ・フルート・フェスティバルのロウ・フルートアンサンブル指揮者とフルートアンサンブルコーディネーターであり、第1回ナショナル・フルート協会のロウ・フルート委員会の議長を務めた。

Ali Ryerson

今日のトップクラスのジャズのフルート奏者のひとり。彼女は音楽家一家で育ち、彼女の父、ジャズギタリストのArt RyersonはPaul Whiteman Orchestraと共演し、NYCのトップスタジオプレイヤーとして活躍した。 Aliは国際的に有名なツアー＆レコーディングのアーティストそして教育者として活躍。元NFAジャズチェア、現在のLow Flutes Chair、NFA Jazz Flute Big Bandの創設者。またSacred Heart Universityのフルート教授であり世界中でマスタークラスを担当している。 Hartt School of Musicの卒業。Harold Bennett氏とJohn Wion氏に師事。Gemeinhardtの専属アーティストとしてライアソンモデルの楽器を開発。

Peter Sheridan

創造的な演奏家、教育者、新しい音楽の情熱的な支持者であり、ロウフルートのために100以上の作品を委託している。ニューヨーク市出身。音楽芸術高等学校（La Guardia Performing Arts）、マネス音楽大学、ジュリアード準備課で学んだ。さらに、ロンドン・ゴールドスミス・カレッジやアリゾナ大学（ツーソン）、カリフォルニア・ロサンゼルス（UCLA）で大学院の研究を行う。現在、オーストラリアのメルボルンに居住しており、サー・ゼルマン・コウェン・スクール・オブ・ミュージック - モナッシュ大学にてフルート・アンサンブルのディレクターを務める。

多久潤一朗（Jun-ichiro Taku）

無数の特殊奏法や民族楽器の奏法を駆使し自作自演を軸に活動中。

東京藝術大学在学時より現代音楽を中心に活動を始め、国内外の作曲家の新作初演を多数手がける。

ソリストとしてもこれまでに新日本フィルハーモニー管弦楽団はじめ数々のオーケストラと協奏曲を共演した。

また自身がリーダーを務める次世代型フルートトリオ『マグナムトリオ』は国内ツアーは元よりイギリスやカナダ、韓国他様々な国の音楽祭からオファーを受け招待公演を行なっている。

Japan Jazz Flute Big Band

日本で初めてのジャズフルートのビッグバンドとして、2015年にフルート奏者星優子によって結成された。ジャズスタンダードや日本の歌とジャズを融合させたオリジナルアレンジをレパートリーとしフルートの新境地を切り開いている。2016年にAli Ryerson氏を東京に招きコンサートやマスタークラスを開催。2018年に第1回International Low Flutes Festivalにゲスト出演。その後ニューヨーク、ワシントンDCにてツアーを行い高い評価を得る。
